Online Rehearsal

Every Wednesday evening during term time GCU hosts two Zoom sessions to help choir members and visitors keep their voices tuned and provide some musical education. Our Music Director, Brian Wright, leads the first session which covers singing along to a selected well known large choral piece, followed by some smaller works, usually motets; each evening different sections of the works are covered. He gives an interesting background to each piece, and the evening starts with some useful voice training exercises. Our principal Accompanist, Stephen Jones, who provides the training in Brian’s sessions, leads the second session which concentrates on smaller works in more detail with a view to producing a recording as a final reward for all the effort put in! We have been doing this for nearly a year now, and everyone involved enjoys the musical exercise and the opportunity to see and chat with fellow choir members and visitors.
